OF BRICKS & BREATH

The team skillfully integrated the use of locally sourced materials to transform the production factory and redefine the experience for the workers. The play with raw bricks that forms the outer skin of the factory brings in daylight and ventilation to an otherwise stifling working environment. The well orchestrated landscape serves as a breathing space, creating a new paradigm to the conventional factory typology.

COSFORD CONTAINER PARK

The project upcycles shipping containers into an unique dining haven for community activity and events. The containers, which are adorned in different colors and complimented by surrounding lights, comes alive especially after sunset, creating an exhilarating dining atmosphere. The design priorities a welcoming and comfortable environment, ensuring a visitors can enjoy the space. The space is also carefully planned to maximizes visual connection to the runway, allowing visitors to enjoy the view of planes taking off and landing against the scenic backdrop of the green nature around.

THE LINK

With the principle of Connecting People, Embracing Nature, the new office is envisioned to maximize the interactions between people, nature and space. People-centric nodes, located throughout the building, are designed to facilitate social activities and human interactions within the office, from leisure, networking to discussions.

THE TAPESTRY

The Tapestry is a nature-centric factory that redefines industrial space as an ecological and people-centric workspace. Weaving spaces, Breathing life – The design aims to elevate wellness of workers with nature and encourage human connections. The Khmer textile-inspired brickwork façade is breathable, fusing the greenery and social spaces with delights.

CHEE CHUNG HUAY TEMPLE, SINGAPORE

The proposed temple is a reflection of the Taoist belief and tradition in a contemporary approach. The design emphasizes on its connection with the community as well as the nature around, to bring about a spacious and well ventilated interior. The aluminum parametric façade takes inspiration from the core values of the temple association and serves as a sun shading device.

A refreshing work setting of water feature and greenery brings much relieve amidst a harsh and industrial environment. Green outdoor spaces provide pleasant discussion areas and an effective buffer to the noise and pollution.

SHOWROOM AND PD OFFICE, PHNOM PENH

Tropical showroom office building with bamboo sections façade panels to illuminate office interior, frame view and provides privacy. Water feature and outdoor staircase courtyard sandwiched in between creates a brand new refreshing working environment to end users.

A NATURE CENTRIC CAMPUS IN THE TROPICS

The project is a tertiary education institution, Centre for Banking Studies, in an urban area of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The overall massing of the blocks is shaped by the dynamic relationships between formal learning and collaborative spaces. Lush greenery is injected into all levels to facilitate a close interaction with nature. The circulation spaces of the lower communal decks are fluid to allow students to flow freely into these spaces and encourage more social interaction. The design is forward-looking and pays homage to the rich Cambodian culture, while resiliently facing the challenges of the tropical climate.

WAREHOUSE WITH SHOWROOM AT TAGORE INDUSTRIAL AVENUE

The showroom is a techtonic composition of building elements, reflecting the dynamism and spirit of car racing sport and its automobile.

365 JALAN BESAR

This project aims to transform a 2-storey shophouse into a 5-storey commercial building. The lowering of party walls on one side and introduction of diagonal lines creates dialogue between buildings and enhances connection to urban fabric. The green terraces at the front façade create a vibrant view from the streets, resembling a forest amidst the conventional shophouses.

YIO CHU KANG SECONDARY SCHOOL

Huge overhanging corridors and mild steel panels serve as functional and aesthetic devices for sun-shading and rain blocking.

QUANG GIAW OFFICE TOWER AT CANTHO CITY

A dramatic juxtaposition of steel cladding and glazing arrangement inspires awe in this office building.

NBC INSTITUTION, PHNOM PENH

The institution is a significant facility for the National Bank of Cambodia in the city of Phnom Penh. The architecture has a stately appearance that reflects the jurisdiction and stability of the government organisation. With a length of 150 m for operation needs, the façade breaks down the massive scale to incorporate a good source of natural light for the spaces within.

CAR PARK, PHNOM PENH

This Car Park is sited at a busy road junction in the heart of Phnom Penh; hence, the design was meant to bring about a sense of calm to the busy junction. The facade is crafted with delicate screens that soften the urbanscape as well as adding a poetic touch to the street.

OFFICE COMPLEX, PHNOM PENH

Façade of lush greenery and light metal louvers provides shading from the tropical climate. Interior courtyard is lit up with generous skylight to give users refreshing views.

WOODLANDS POINT MALL, SINGAPORE

The externalization of retail and F&B spaces brings exuberant nature into the interiors, creating a forward-looking lifestyle venue in the heartlands.

NATIONAL BANK OF CAMBODIA (NBC) HEADQUARTERS

This elegant and stately office tower reflects the forward-looking ethos of the governmental institution behind it. The upward-inclining building form represents their progressive endeavours, while the strategic breakdown of the building mass into 5 linear parts helps the building sit well into the urban context of Phnom Penh.

TRAM STATION AT SINGAPORE NIGHT SAFARI

The roof is designed to provide sufficient natural skylight, yet ample shading for visitors resting or waiting at the tram station.

MANDALAY ACADEMY, MYANMAR

Hyperbolic roofs that sloped gently inwards converge attention to the energetic common courtyard.

MIXED DEVELOPMENT AT VUNG TAU, VIETNAM

The cascading sky gardens of the hotel diffuse the distance between the podium and the high-rised blocks, drawing attention to the interesting composition of the overall water front development.

The vernacular motif-inspired facade and infusion of natural light through staggered forms brings excitement and life to the wholesale market.

YHS PRODUCTION PLANT, PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

The YHS production plant is a mega industrial complex with a built up area of 40,000sqm on a 9 hectare site, consisting of a significant 280m long manufacturing block.  The master plan enables a smooth operational flow and its architecture resonates a clean and vibrant image which reflects the dynamism of the organisation.
