Celebration of Local Culture
Part of the design process involved a group of residents coming together to personally paint the ceiling feature panels using 20 everyday household items familiar to Singaporeans. The process was enjoyed by the residents.
The architects deliberately opted for a design approach that harmoniously combined the vernacular and modern. By using items familiar to Singaporeans, the design stays relevant to the community. The architects ensured that the design is culturally relevant so that the Centre is timeless and can serve generations of Singaporeans to come.
